Alan Partridge’s MID MORNING MATTERS is a hilarious, but increasingly bizarre, romp through the digital airwaves and it’s on THE COMEDY CHANNEL.
After eight years of absence, Steve Coogan has brought back to life one of his most renowned and outrageous characters – Alan Partridge. Unable to resurrect his TV career, our unique presenter Alan is now hosting a radio show called Alan Partridge’s MID MORNING MATTERS on North Norfolk Digital with Sidekick Simon, a lab technician he met in a pub, who Alan thinks is so hilarious he decides to give him a break on live radio.
Filmed through a webcam-eye-view, this is Alan Partridge for the digital age, although he hasn’t quite caught up with the rest of us. Spreading his usual mix of banality and wincingly tasteless comments, our anti-hero’s star seems to have dipped to ever increasingly desperate depths. Tricky callers, fascinating listener phone-ins and a slightly disturbing insight into the inner workings of Alan’s mind prove to be a winning mix for this mock-radio show comedy.
Through the series, Alan discovers his fascinating ancestry in ‘Who Does Alan Think Alan Is?’, unwittingly becomes an agony aunt, and inspired by the Frost/Nixon interview, decides to do Partridge/Partridge. It’s hard hitting stuff as Alan asks Alan some deep, probing questions.
Alan Partridge's MID MORNING MATTERS is here on THE COMEDY CHANNEL.
