SHOOTING STARS features top stars competing for prizes in bizarre tongue-in-cheek rounds such as the Impressions Round, True and False and The Wonderful Wonderful Car (a tiny red car with buttocks on the bumper which fires out its questions). Points are awarded for “correct” answers and relayed by a bizarre, overgrown, ranting, drumming baby called George Dawes (Little Britain’s Matt Lucas) from his drum kit. The winning team is also rewarded with useless prizes such as eye-spoons - spectacle frames with teaspoons attached where lenses would be - these are to be used should one's eyes pop out of their skull when visiting a nudist beach.
Team captains Will Self and Ulrika Jonsson appear each week with permanent panellist Johnny Vegas and an ever-changing roster of celebrity team-mates including Jordan, Hugh Fearnley-Whittingstall, Craig Cash (The Royle Family), David Dickinson, Paul Daniels, Paul Whitehouse, Patsy Kensit and many more.
